Ah, Lima!

We stayed at the gorgeous Miraflores Park, A Belmond Hotel. If heaven had ocean views and breakfast buffets, this might be it:

• 🌟 Wonderful service

• 👀 Wonderful views

• 🏫 Wonderful amenities

• 🍽️ Wonderful food (especially breakfast!)

• 📍 Perfect location: smack in Miraflores Park

And the walks above the Pacific Ocean? Unforgettable. Just you, the waves, and the occasional paragliding tourist trying not to fall in love (with gravity).

Lima: A Culinary Wonderland 🍲

Peru’s cuisine is next level. Tokyo, Paris, and Lima walk into a bar—and the bartender serves ceviche. Lima punches way above its weight in flavor:

• Maido by Chef Mitsuharu "Micha" Tsumura: Japanese-Peruvian fusion so divine it should come with a halo. We tried the tasting menu. Verdict: dishes rocked, then rocked some more. Voted #1 in the world for a reason. 🔥

• Astrid y Gastón: Iconic, elegant, and bold. Loved the vibe, the space, and the plates. Some misses, many hits. Always worth coming back.

• Central: We didn’t go. That’s why we’re going back. No regrets, just hunger.

And honestly, a dozen more places deserve your tastebuds. Lima = Food Mecca. Add stretchy pants to your packing list. 👖

The Culture, the Art, the Sights 🌎

• Miraflores + El Parque del Amor: Think ocean cliffs, romantic mosaics, and a statue of lovers that will make your heart sigh (or your Instagram followers jealous). ❤️

• Museo Larco: One of the most stunning small museums ever. Picture 18th-century elegance on top of a 7th-century pyramid. Bonus: erotic pottery and luscious gardens. Stay for lunch at the café — you'll thank me.

• Plaza de Armas: Colonial architecture, a 1650s fountain, and photo ops galore.

• Barranco: Street art, soul, and a Bohemian vibe you can’t fake.

• San Francisco Convent + Catacombs: 70,000 skeletons and zero ghosts (probably). Historic, slightly spooky, totally fascinating. ⚰️

🌍🌍🗓️ Today Is Nearly the End of the World — Not.

Lima = Gateway to Adventure 🌏

Peru isn’t just Lima. It’s mountains, jungles, valleys, and condors. And yes, we tried to see everything:

• Cusco: Stayed at Palacio Nazarenas & Hotel Monasterio — stunning! One hike nearly ended me (30m drop avoided by a nail), but the views? Life-changing. ⛰️

• Machu Picchu: Hiked to the Sun Gate. Fog, clouds, and magic. Stayed at Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel — hummingbirds > service. 🦝

• Sacred Valley: Beauty everywhere. Stayed at Hacienda Urubamba (loved the place, not the service). Market colors, mountain air, peace.

• Paracas: Ocean dreams. Miss it already.

• Nazca Lines: Aliens? Art? Who cares — fun!

• Colca Canyon: Didn’t go yet. CAN'T WAIT to see the condors fly. 🦅

• Lake Titicaca + the Amazon: Still on the bucket list. Still worth every mile and sigh.

In Summary 🌟

Beautiful people, breathtaking landscapes, astonishing food, and deep, vibrant history. Peru doesn’t stop. Lima doesn’t stop. And neither does the longing to return.
