Go to Pub, Get Seven Seas, Love the Lobster!
Let’s be honest: we weren’t planning to write a review of a small-town seafood joint…
But then we went. And now we have no choice. Because lobster happened. ❤️🦞🔥
🌊 The Tale Behind the Name
The Seven Seas Restaurant & Pub in Milford, CT, isn’t just a name—it’s a tribute. Owner Richard Smith, a Navy veteran, saw the name “Seven Seas” everywhere during his service. When his family bought this spot in 1965, they kept the nautical flair alive.
Locals know the place. So do celebrities: Paul Newman, John Legend, and ESPN’s Dan Patrick have all dropped anchor here (per their website—don’t fact-check our oysters). 🕶️🎤🏁

📞 (203) 877-7327
-
🎽 Dress Code: Casual
-
🍽️ Vibe: Relaxed, warmly lit, with dark wood and nautical antiques
-
🚫 Reservations: Not needed, but it gets busy
🧂 Starters: A Mixed Bag (of Clams)
1. The 7 Seas Chowder
Let’s call it “Lost at Sea.” 🧂💧
Too salty, too thin, and shy on clams. Tried it twice, same verdict. Respectfully, pass.
2. Crab Cake
Moist. Fresh. Glorious.
If this crab had a résumé, it would say: “Currently employed delighting humans.” 🦀✔️
🍽️ Mains: Now We’re Sailing
1. Fried Fish Sandwich
Decent cod, decent breading, decent flavor. Basically the “meh” of the menu. Not bad. Not booking a return voyage. 🐟😐
2. The Lobster Roll (Cue Fireworks)
One of the best we’ve ever had.
Warm, buttery, and bursting at the seams with fresh, sautéed lobster meat. Overflowing. Melts in your mouth. Tastes like summer in New England. 🦞🌞💥
💸 Market price: $32 (worth every dollar—honestly, don’t raise it, but do keep it coming. Please. 🙏)
3. Sides (Fries + Slaw)
Perfectly crispy fries, satisfying coleslaw. These aren’t just afterthoughts—they showed up to win. 🍟💪🥬
🔁 Next Time (And Oh, There Will Be a Next Time)
-
🥣 Try the lobster bisque and fried clam strips
-
🧄 Consider the stuffed clams
-
🔁 Reorder the crab cakes, no question
-
✌️ Double down on the lobster roll—because sometimes, one is not enough
-
⬆️ Upgrade sides with onion rings and sweet potato fries
🧭 Final Take
We're not food critics.
We didn’t see a single one of the Seven Seas.
But we did taste glory in the form of a toasted roll overflowing with lobster. 🦞✨
