A mouthwatering slice of Rubirosa pizza next to a grumpy-looking Lindt chocolate bar—because pizza wins every time! 🍕🍫

🍫 From Chocolate Letdown to Pizza Paradise: Our Rubirosa Redemption

🛒 Stop #1: Lindt on 34th Street

Oh boy. Lindt on 34th and 5th? Brace yourself. 😬

  • Attitude level: Antarctic.
  • Customer service: Cold as a chocolate bar in a freezer.
  • Smile count: 0.
  • Pro tip: Order less. Apparently, the less you ask for, the better they treat you. 😅

🍕 Stop #2: Rubirosa—Pizza Heaven on Earth

📍 235 Mulberry Street, Manhattan
📅 Open 7 days a week: 11 AM – 11 PM
📞 (212) 965-0500 | Rubirosa NYC

Rubirosa isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a sanctuary for pizza lovers. Founded by AJ Pappalardo (son of Joe and Pat’s fame), this Nolita gem has been serving up Italian-American classics since 2009. And the pizza? Mama mia. 🍕❤️

What We Ordered:
🔥 The TIE DYE™ Pizza (vodka/tomato/pesto/fresh mozzarella) – Small $28, Large $35
🍯The Honey Pie (tomato sauce/mozzarella/fontina/pork soppressata/spiced honey) – Small $27, Large $34
Spaghetti alla Chitarra – Tomato/basil/parmigiano (Individual $22, Add Meatballs $28, Family Style $39, Add Meatballs $51) – The pasta’s amazing, thanks to the sauce — but those meatballs? Meh.
Meatball Parmigiano Hero – (Meatball/tomato/mozzarella) – The sandwich is decent, but the meatballs remain underwhelming.
Tiramisu & Bread Pudding – The tiramisu is excellent, and the bread pudding is even better, think otherworldly — soft, warm, and impossible to resist.

👀 Not exactly budget pizza—but worth every dollar!

  • Crust: Razor-thin and perfectly crisp.
  • Vodka sauce: Dangerously addictive.
  • Flavor: Next-level. (And yes, we’re New Haven pizza snobs.)

🍝 What to Try Next:

🍚 Mini Rice Balls – Mascarpone, prosciutto, fontina
🥓 Carbonara – Speck, egg yolk, scallions
💥 Order these. Trust us.

🍰 Dessert Done Right:

We tried the tiramisu and the bread pudding—and let’s just say we almost fought over the bread pudding. Served warm, melt-in-your-mouth delicious. 🍞🍯
👉 Grand Prize Winner – Bread pudding. Don’t share it. Seriously.

🍽️ The Rubirosa Experience:

✅ Attentive and friendly staff 😍
✅ Great for dates, family outings, or solo indulgence
✅ Three seating options:
1️⃣ High-top tables
2️⃣ Bar seats
3️⃣ Dining room

🥂 Pro Tip:

👉 Reservations recommended (use Resy). It gets packed!
👉 You’ll leave full, happy—and wondering why you ever put up with Lindt’s nonsense in the first place. 😎

❤️ The Verdict:

🍫 Lindt on 34th: Meh 😐
🍕 Rubirosa: Heaven 🙌
🚀 Moral of the story: Skip the chocolate, stick to the pizza. 🍕
