In an update issued December 29, 2025, the U.S. State Department reminded travelers that Russia remains under a “Level 4: Do Not Travel” advisory — citing the ongoing war in Ukraine, risks of harassment or wrongful detention, arbitrary enforcement of local laws, and the ever-looming possibility of terrorism.

So… no rush-a traction then. 

Which is a shame, really.
Moscow is stunning.
The architecture is breathtaking.
And there’s allegedly a crème brûlée spot that’s life-changing — slightly fattening, but worth it.
No crème, lean then...

Some trips, however, are better postponed.
